DIY Leave- in Conditioner

Recently I ran out of my favorite leave-in conditioner which I got in Bend, Oregon. The product is called called HairTea by T’s Tonics. I was planning on buying more soon but didn’t get to it fast enough. Fortunately, I turned the ingredients side over and became inspired to do a little research. What I came up with is the last recipe on this list. While I loved the combination of herbs that the specific product offered, my own homemade product makes my hair just as soft and shiny! I thought some of you might like a recipe like this on hand so I compiled few recipes you may like to choose from, depending on what you have around your house:

Coconut Milk Leave- in:

  • 1/4 c distilled water (or tap water, boiled 5 mins)
  • 1 Tbs coconut milk, canned
  • 5-8 drops essential oil, depending on size of spray bottle and desired strength.

First, combine the coconut milk and distilled water, shake well and then combine with essential oil and shake again.

Aloe-Vera Leave- in:

  • 1/2 c water, distilled or tap water boiled 5 mins
  • 1/2 c Aloe Vera
  • 10-15 drops your favorite essential oils

Combine aloe-vera and water thoroughly and then add your essential oils, shaking again. Shake all products before each use.

Jojoba or Rose Hip Seed Oil Variation:

Use 1 part oil to 2 parts water, so 2 oz jojoba oil and 4 ounces of water, for example. Add a few drops of desired essential oil. This recipe is the one I used and is closest to the ingredients list of my favorite leave- in product ever.

For those of you who would rather just sit back and wait for the perfect product to arrive at your doorstep, you can go to tstonics.com to get the product which inspired the last recipe.
